Our happiest clients show up at all price points, all property styles, all demographics. But the one thing that seems to tie them all together (aside from the fact that they chose to work with The Cape House!) is that they were all well prepared. Take Katelin and Nate, who recently closed on their first home with us. By all accounts these two should have been pretty frustrated. The house they bought was a short sale, held by one of the big national banks. Usually it takes a matter of weeks to process a home sale. This one took four months.
But Katelin and Nate knew about short sales. They knew about home inspections. And how to keep their credit reports clean, and homeowner’s insurance, and smoke detectors. Make no mistake, when there were delays and long spans of time with no new information, they were not pleased. Even then, partnered with the diligent and equally patient Stephanie Reeve as their buyer agent, they braced for the possibility that this house may never be theirs. Steph kept an eye out for other houses that might fit the bill, made just-in-case showing appointments, and kept extremely close tabs on every moving part of the transaction.
Their patience and preparation paid off. They are now proud owners of a three-bedroom, two-bath home which they were able to purchase at a very low price, in spite of buying in the middle of a strong sellers market. They have instant equity and a home that they love. What a great start at life for this young couple! Aren’t they lucky? ;)
